Annual Burning Ban by order of NYS Department of Environmental Conservation

March 16 – May 14, 2013

During this time period, no open burning shall be allowed. Opening burning may be allowed between May 15, and March 15, provided requirements are met and no further bans are in place through local or State regulation.

A statewide ban on open burning will be in effect from Thurs Mar 14th thru May 15. Violators of the open burning regulation are subject to both criminal and civil enforcement actions, with a minimum fine of $500 for a first offense.
