FASNY APPLAUDS GOVERNOR CUOMO FOR SIGNING BILL PROHIBITING REGISTERED SEX OFFENDERS AS VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS
(Albany, New York– August 4, 2014) – The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York (FASNY) is pleased to announce that Governor Cuomo has signed legislation that prevents registered sex offenders from joining or remaining members of volunteer fire companies and volunteer ambulance companies. FASNY has made this issue part of its proactive agenda for the year and applauds the Governor’s action on this important issue.

2013 Call totals: UMT Leads Niagara County
In 2013 Upper Mountain Fire Company lead Niagara County in calls by volunteer agencies with a total of 1,368.
For every call on that sheet, there is an empty chair at a dinner table, a bed that is missing a warm body, friends who had to go on to have fun without us, or the brave few who would wait at the hall until we could return.
