Open House 2013 – “Kitchen Fire Prevention”
Saturday, October 12th, 2013 – 10:00am to 3:00 pm
Come join the party as we open our doors for our annual Open House! This year’s theme: “Kitchen Fire Prevention.” Demonstrations, fire-related activities, fire education, fire engine rides, Blood Pressure checks, and last but definitely not least our annual live fire demonstrations.

“Team UMT” participates in local Hero Rush
Six UMT members participated in the local Hero Rush today – a 4.7 mile course complete with intense fire-related obstacles (sliding, crawling, getting wet, searching for victims, dragging and carrying equipment, carrying stretchers, racing up stairs, finding your way through smoke and flames, and of course lots of mud!). Congrats on your finish!!

Recruit NY – A Success!
Upper Mountain participated in Recruit NY this weekend on both Saturday and Sunday. It was a perfect weekend for the event. Smoking & Home Fire Information
Fires caused by smoking materials affect not only the smoker, but non-smokers as well. Did you know that of the fatal victims who were not the smokers in smoking material fires:
Thirty-four percent were children of the smokers.
Twenty-five percent were neighbors or friends of the smokers.
In fact, one-in-four people killed in home fires is not the smoker whose cigarette caused the fire.
