It’s not always about fighting fires.

Upper Mountain has many committees that take care of the business side of our organization. Committees are open to Associate members and are vital to make things happen around the firehouse. All UMT members are required to serve on at least one committee.

Building and Grounds

This committee is responsible for inspection, upkeep, and alterations of the fire hall, in addition to scheduling Sheriff’s Workers and planning Work Days.

Bylaws

This committee is responsible for researching proposed revisions to the current governing documents of the corporation, ensuring legitimacy of proposed amendments, and addressing other constitutional conflicts.  The Bylaws Committee will present a report of any proposed amendment prior to a vote being taken on that amendment. This committee will also research law applicable to the corporation which may require a change to the governing documents.

Elections

This committee is responsible for gathering candidates for elections and administering the elections at the Election Meeting and whenever a vacancy is to be filled.

Fundraising

This committee is responsible for creating, planning, promoting, and executing funding opportunities, including the annual Fund Drive.

Information Technology

This committee is responsible for technical upkeep and additions to the fire company, and administration of technological uses.

Installation

This committee is responsible for planning and booking of fire company’s yearly installation dinner.

Provisions

This committee is responsible for planning of meals for business meetings, planning of company Christmas Party, and upkeep of emergency shelter supplies and provisions.

Public Relations

This committee is responsible for promotion of the fire company through local and national media outlets, and coordination of activities and events to sustain the fire company’s image with other organizations.

Recruitment and Retention

This committee is responsible for recruitment and retention of members of the fire company and governance of additional resources provided in town contract for the purpose of recruitment and retention.

Service Awards

This committee is responsible for compiling and awarding of LOSAP Awards.

Uniform and Apparel

This committee is responsible for creation and consistency of fire company apparel and managing of uniforms.
