Open house 2014 recap
Our annual kick-off for National Fire Prevention week started with our Open House on Saturday October 4, 2014. While the weather forecast was less than accommodating that didn’t stop the public from coming out in large numbers to visit with us and spend some time getting to view their local volunteers up close and personal. ‘This is our chance to get to know our neighbors in a non-emergency setting’, said Upper Mt. President Greg Sitek. ‘We really look forward to this day and although the weather and our ladder truck weren’t cooperative, we still managed to produce lots of smiles’.
Special thanks to all (volunteers and public) who braved the on again off again weather, and to all the contestants who entered our coloring contest for a chance to win a fire engine ride to school. (winners will be selected this week by our membership).
