Always Striving For The Best
For over fifty years the Upper Mountain Volunteer Fire Company has provided Fire, Rescue and EMS protection for the residents of the Town of Lewiston. We maintain a readiness to quickly respond and mitigate emergencies in our community and surrounding communities. These men and women are highly trained and have donated countless hours to training to be prepared for anything that may happen. These very dedicated people put their lives on the line answering calls hundreds of times a year in order to protect and help those in need.
Since September 11, 2001, directives from the Department of Homeland Security, and our nation’s new understanding of the challenges first responders face have influenced the role of the Fire Department during catastrophic events. Today, your Fire Department spends time training on Terrorism detection and response protocols, along with the more traditional daily Fire, Rescue, and EMS training.
Members of your Fire Department have traveled to many distant locations to gain new and enhanced training to bring back to our community so that we will be better prepared to serve you in a time of need. Our advanced training is invaluable in our protection of the Town of Lewiston, including the New York State Power Authority, Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital, Niagara University, and the Lewiston-Queenston Bridge.
You, your home, and your family are protected and cared for by the dedicated professionals of the Upper Mountain Volunteer Fire Company, and I am proud to say that Upper Mountain Fire Company has been on the forefront of Fire, Rescue and EMS protection for our community for years and we will continue to strive for the best for our community.
Yours in firefighting,
Chief Dan Leven
