UMT RIT Team called to Town of Niagara Fire

Nov. 7, 2012. Town of Niagara, NY: At 3:28am Upper Mountain (UMT) was dispatched to provide a RIT (Rapid Intervention Team) via mutual aid to the Town of Niagara Active Hose Fire Company.  UMT’s 26E1 responded to the scene of a working trailer fire that was fully involved. Fire was extinguished with 2 teams in < 15 min. of arrival. Afterwards UMT’s crew assisted Niagara Active & Frontier VFC with overhaul duties. Hot spots were located with thermal imaging cameras and doused with extreme prejudice, and thankfully even though the entire floor was like a soggy cracker no injuries were reported. Overall damage was contained to the structure which was vacant.
